Perak eye global speed sensation Terens

-

PERAK coach Mehmet Durakovic chose to be coy over plans to sign three more foreign players, including reports about speedy Indonesian winger Terens Puhiri, for the 2018 season.

Borneo FC player Terens, 21, is the latest Indonesian to be linked with a move to the Super League after Selangor signed Evan Dimas and Ilham Udin Armaiyn.

Terens rose to worldwide fame when a video showing him sprint with incredible speed to score a goal for his club against Mitra Kukar in an Indonesian league match on Oct 23 went viral.

Borneo FC president Nabil Husein Said Amin recently revealed that the club have received many inquiries from foreign teams about Terens, including Super League side Perak.

Durakovic, however, declined to comment on Perak's interest in Terens to fill the team's Asean import quota.

"Look, Perak have been linked to so many players. I am surprised with where these reports are coming from," said Durakovic.

"To be honest, we still have time to complete the shaping of the squad. I can't reveal any names yet because these players are still contracted to their clubs.

"It would not be fair to the players, their club or to us to reveal anything."

Former Queens Park Rangers striker Bruno Perone has also been linked with the team after the Brazilian nearly joined Perak in 2015.

Former South Korean international youth midfielder Moon Chang Jin is another player Perak are said to be interested in.

Durakovic did confirm that Perak are negotiating with centre-back Shahrom Kalam after the player's contract expired in November.

Shahrom had his heart set on returning to his hometown team Kuala Lumpur but the city side's interest has cooled after talks faltered.

"We are still negotiating with Shahrom and we'll see how that develops," said Durakovic.

"My main interest is looking for younger players from our junior teams to be absorbed into the senior side."

Perak have retained Brazillian's Gilmar Filho Jose Da Silva and Leandro Dos Santos while adding Australia-born Brendan Gan and national Under-23 defender
