KUALA LUMPUR: Show your support for Palestinians by dressing in white at the “Solidarity Rally in Defence of Jerusalem” tomorrow at the Putra Mosque, Putrajaya.

Political Secretary to the Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Dr Ahmad Masrizal Muhammad said Malaysians from all walks of life were invited to join the assembly.

He said nearly 10,000 representatives from political parties and non-governmental organisations (NGOs) were expected to participate in the rally.

“The transfer of the United States embassy from Tel Aviv to Baitulmaqdis is not just an issue for Muslims, as the city is also a holy land for Christians and Jews.

“People of all races are invited to Dataran Putra in Putrajaya after Friday prayers. They can dress in white to show Malaysians’ sincerity to help and support Palestinians,” he said after a media briefing here yesterday.

Masrizal said the gathering would see Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak addressing the the country’s stand on the issue.

He said Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang, who is also International Union of Muslim Scholars vice-president, would give a speech at the gathering.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, who is the event’s organising committee chairman, will be making his mark together with Najib and Hadi by signing a banner to show their objection to the US government’s decision to move its embassy.
