MBSA WILL PATCH UP POTHOLES

-

POTHOLES may seem like a trivial problem, but for motorcyclists, it could be a death sentence.

The worsening potholes in Persiaran Kayangan, Shah Alam, near the Federal Highway exit could have cost a student her life.

Syazana Hamdan who lives in nearby Padang Jawa and travels daily to Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) said: “Going home after a day of classes can be really tiring especially when I have to manoeuvre my motorcycle with more care.

“I almost got into an accident trying to avoid the potholes. It’s like I’m stuck between a rock and a hard place. It’s dangerous for me to avoid the potholes because cars might not see me and it’s also dangerous if I run over the potholes.”

Syazana said it was one of the main roads used by Shah Alam Section 7 residents to get to the Federal Highway.

“A motorcycle’s tyre could get caught in a pothole and cause the rider to lose his balance. Potholes not only endanger people’s lives, they can also do serious damage to vehicles.”

She urged the Shah Alam Municipal Council to resurface the road before any untoward incidents occur.

Checks by Actionline found the road was congested as motorists were trying to avoid the potholes.
