clotted cream, Scottish salmon sandwich and creme fraiche on rye bread, truffle scented egg white salad sandwich as well as smoked turkey and gem lettuce mini wrap with fresh pineapple.

There are Lemon Curd and Raspberry Tartlets and French macaroons on the third tier. This is definitely sugary satisfaction!

The set is for two people, but portions are generous enough for three.

The Classic Afternoon Tea Experience is available from 2pm to 5pm daily.

DIM SUM BRUNCH

The next day, we have a relaxing itinerary and it starts with brunch at Celestial Court. This is not the typical toast and poached egg brunch. It’s more oriental, more traditional — it is an Imperial Dim Sum Brunch which features over 70 innovative dim sum and a la carte Cantonese delights.

The waiter recommends delicious dishes from steamed and fried dim sum, appetisers, beef and seafood dishes and fried rice of our selection to desserts and more.

We don’t even notice that we have spent three hours enjoying the dishes.

The Imperial Dim Sum Brunch is only available on weekends and public holidays from 10.30am to 3.00pm. It is priced at RM138 nett/person (food only), or RM238 nett/person (Sommelier’s Red & White Wine Selection, Beer, Soft Drinks & Chilled Juices, Coffee & Tea are included). For kids, it is priced at RM69 nett/child (9-12 years old) and includes a soft drink.

Oh, you’ll also be served Double Boiled Chicken Soup with Mini Whole Abalone and Mushroom, Wok-Fried Chili Crab as well as Peking Duck Roll. Exquisite!

This is not my first time at Mandara Spa, I have been to one of its branches in Sunway and I truly enjoyed the pampering and services. I hope I can get the same treatment at the Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur branch.

The treatments offered are the same. So I decide on the signature Mandara Massage — the Balinese. It’s the most relaxing massage harnessing the therapeutic properties of 100 per cent pure essential oils.

First, guests choose the type of oil that suits the body and needs. There are Mandara oil for sensitive skin (perfect if you have dry sun burnt skin); Island Spice is quite hot and aims to relax the muscle; Harmony oil gives balance to the body; and Tranquil oil relieves stress. I choose Harmony while my friend Nur opts for Tranquil.

We are then ushered into the spacious couple room. The 50-minute treatment consists of stretching, long strokes, skinrolling and palm and thumb pressure techniques that really make me relax. The strokes help to relieve tension, improve blood flow, ease stress and calm the mind.

To complete the treatment, Iraa, my
