‘DAP instilling hatred, doubt in people’
KUALA LUMPUR: DAP is trying to manipulate Malaysians by associating the Defence Ministry’s security planning with political agenda.
Semberong Umno Youth Chief Onn Hafiz Ghazi said this was a shameless act to gain popularity by instilling hatred and doubt in the people.
“Kluang member of parliament Liew Chin Tong’s antics in manipulating Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein’s speech, which was reported in a local portal, were baseless and malicious.
“It was intended to create confusion and divide people’s trust.”
Onn said if the army camp was constructed based on political purposes as alleged by Liew, Hishammuddin would ensure it would be completed before the 14th General Election.
“However, the construction is ongoing and it is not possible to be completed before the general election.
“Planning and efforts to carry out refurbishment and upgrading work at the army camp have been made for quite a while based on the needs and national security interest under the purview of the ministry.
“If he (Liew) has any doubts and questions, as Hishammuddin’s political secretary, I am always open to answer any of his queries to put a stop to his prejudice.”
It was reported that Hishammuddin had denied that the government was allegedly building camps in key constituencies that Barisan Nasional won with thin majorities in the previous general election.
