Medan Pasar City End Stop is now a bus stop

-

EFFECTIVE today, the Medan Pasar City End Stop (Hentian Akhir Bandar or HAB) will be re-designated as a bus stop, says the Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD).

Buses will no longer be allowed to wait or park at Medan Pasar. They can only pick up or drop off passengers.

This is to allow for better traffic flow at Medan Pasar, which is notorious for traffic congestion during peak hours, partly due to waiting buses.

The End Stop will be relocated to Lebuh Pudu HAB nearby, which provides better facilities and shelter for passengers.

“It will affect 50 buses operated by Selangor Omnibus Co Bhd and Setara Jaya Sdn Bhd,” said SPAD in a statement.

“The affected Selangor Omnibus route numbers are 100, 103, 104, 107, 120, 121 and 122, while for Setara Jaya the route numbers are 151 and 152.

“The abovementioned buses will end their trips at Lebuh Pudu HAB, which is in front of Mydin Emporium Sinar Kota, located 350m from the current Medan Pasar HAB.”

This information was made available to passengers inside the buses, and at the Medan Pasar and Lebuh Pudu HAB this past week.

To assist passengers, staff from Selangor Omnibus, Setara Jaya, and SPAD will be on duty at two HABs to monitor the transition.

With this relocation, there will be three HABs in the Kuala Lumpur city centre: Munshi Abdullah HAB serving the Ampang corridor, Pasar Seni HAB serving the Federal Highway and Old Klang Road corridors, and Lebuh Pudu HAB, which now incorporates buses serving the Cheras, Sungai Besi, Jalan Ipoh and Jalan Pahang corridors.

Lebuh Pudu HAB is being used by operators such as Nadi Putra, Seri Indah and RapidKL.
