Amisya ends season on a winning note

-

NATIONAL youth player Nur Amisya Khairuddin ended her season on a positive note by helping Kuala Lumpur win the National Netball Championship at Juara Stadium in Bukit Kiara yesterday.

In October, 18year-old was part of the KL team that lifted the national junior title.

Amisya, who was voted as the best player of the tournament, played an instrumental role in the 48-46 success over Johor in the final. It is KL’s first title after three years.

“I feel really proud and I want to thank everyone who came to support me. which includes my family, coach (Norizan Rajab), manager (Netee Zuraini Aslan) and my teammates. It’s because of them, I am where I am today,” said Amisya.

Amisya now aims to earn a promotion to the national team and help them qualify for the 2019 World Cup in the United Kingdowm through the Asian Championship in Singapore in September.

“My dream is to play for the senior team. I am currently with the junior side. I will work hard to get into the senior team,” Amisya, who will now focus on the Malaysia Games in Perak, also in September.

“It will be my first outing in the Malaysia Games. However, I still need to work hard to get into the team,” she added. Farah Azharie
