KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia Airlines (MAS) yesterday welcomed its second Airbus A350-900 (XWB) aircraft, which features the special “Negaraku” livery.

In a statement yesterday, MAS said the aircraft, which bore the flight code MH5025, took off from Toulouse, France, at 2.02pm on Dec 22 and touched down at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport at 9.45am yesterday.

“The A350 XWB bears the registration number 9M-MAC and carries with it the Jalur Gemilang, which represents all Malaysians whose flag the airline carries worldwide.

“It comes with a three-class configuration: four seats in first class, 35 in business class and 247 in Economy Class.”

Malaysia Airlines Bhd group chief executive officer Izham Ismail was present to greet the 286-seat aircraft.

On MAS’s Twitter account, the national carrier announced the arrival of the aircraft by posting pictures of the plane descending and MAS officers and staff greeting its arrival.

“A symbol of pride, our A350 XWB aircraft with the Negaraku livery has finally arrived in Kuala Lumpur! We look forward to welcoming you onboard!” the tweet read.

MAS last month welcomed its first A350-900 (XWB) out of the six leased to the airline by Air Lease Corporation. It is expected to receive four more of the A350 XWB by March.
