‘Online merchants should be more responsible’

- By Tahir Alhamzah

ROCKER Amy of Search is glad that representatives of NMH Legacy has cleared the air about the confusion regarding a picture of him allegedly promoting one of its products.

“I hope everyone, both product owners and their agents, will be more responsible when it comes to marketing their products on social media,” the 59-year-old artiste told the New Straits Times.

“If I were to endorse anything, let me do the photo-sharing on my social media, and not the other way round,” said the artiste, whose full name is Suhaimi Abdul Rahman.

Earlier, NMH Legacy’s company lawyer Shahrulazwad Ismail said at a press conference that the company had not been involved nor aware of the promotion stint done by one of their agents who used a picture of Amy holding a box of Triple-T, a herbal tea produced by the company.

“We only found out when the media picked up the story after Amy put the picture on his Instagram, with the word ‘Penipuan’,” he explained.

Shahrulazwad said the company had warned the agent to be more careful in marketing his products.

“We have our own strategies. But, when agents do things like this, it is out of our control until we find out about it,” he said at the event held at a hotel in Kuala Lumpur, which was attended by NMH Legacy founder Datuk Dr Norazlanshah Hazali and its managing director, Datuk Mashita Masri.
