Massage trainee, 13, alleges rape, abuse

-

KAJANG: A health centre in Semenyih is under investigation for the alleged abuse and rape of one of its employees, a 13-yearold girl.

It is understood that the minor, who is from a poor family, was sent to the centre in April to learn massage techniques so that she could help to support her family.

However, allegations have emerged that she was abused by a caretaker at the centre and raped by a customer.

Kajang police chief Assistant Commissioner Ahmad Dzaffir Yusoff said details of her ordeal emerged last Thursday when the girl was sent to Taman Cheras Permata to massage a female client.

The client noticed what appeared to be burn marks on the girl’s arms.

“The woman asked the girl about the marks, and the girl told the woman what happened.

“The girl claimed that she was choked, punched and beaten with a hot ladle by the centre’s female caretaker,” he said.

The woman contacted a non-governmental organisation for help. The NGO took the girl to lodge a report the following day.

The girl told police that she was raped by a client during a massage session in Seri Petaling in May.

Dzaffir said a medical examination at Selayang Hospital found that the girl had burns on her body, arms and mouth.

The centre’s caretaker was arrested at 5.30pm on Monday, after her statement was recorded at the district police headquarters.

He said police would record the statement of the centre’s 54-year-old owner, who was hospitalised because of a heart condition.

The case is being investigated under Section 31(1) of the Child Act 2001.

In an unrelated case, police have arrested a 56-year-old Indonesian man for allegedly molesting a 16year-old girl.

The man, a business partner of the girl’s father, had allegedly been molesting the teen since 2014.

The girl’s family lived with the suspect in Cheras Hartamas.

She claimed that the latest incidence of sexual abuse occurred on Saturday, when her parents were abroad.

The girl claimed that the man had entered her room around 1pm on the pretext of wanting to talk to her. When she refused, he turned violent.

She said he choked her and touched her private parts.

“The girl claimed the man had also attempted to molest her 8-year-old sister,” said Dzaffir.

She then lodged a police report, which led to the man’s arrest.

The case is being investigated under Section 14(a) of the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017.
