PUTRAJAYA Corporation’s (PjC) act of clamping an illegally parked police patrol car in Jalan P2p here on Wednesday showed that it does not practise double standards.

PjC Enforcement Division director Muhamad Irwan Abdullah said his team was just following procedures when carrying out enforcement.

“The enforcement team was conducting checks in the area when it spotted an illegallyparked police patrol car.

“It was parked at the road shoulder near a clamping zone in Jalan P2p, near Menara Usahawan in Presint 2.

“They tried to get in touch with the driver.

“It is a procedure for us to clamp all cars that commit traffic offences, including police cars.

“This needs to be taken to ensure that there is no double standard when it comes to enforcement,” he said in response to a photo of an illegally parked police patrol car that was clamped in front of Menara Usahawan.

The photo showed that the right front tyre of the car was clamped, while three uniformed policemen stood near the vehicle.

The photo has received numer- ous reactions from Netizens.

Irwan said clamping illegally parked cars was one of the efforts to educate the public and prevent them from committing traffic offences.

PjC introduced towing and clamping zones since April 1 to deter illegal parking.

It provides information on clamping and towing zones as well as parking areas in Putrajaya on www.ppj.gov.my.
