BEING one with nature has always been an important feature in all of Eco World Development Group Bhd’s (EcoWorld) projects across the board.

The recently-launched Eco Horizon project, in the satellite town of Batu Kawan on mainland Penang, promises just that kind of tranquil living.

EcoWorld’s northern region general manager Chan Soo How said greenery made up about 20 per cent of the project, including the perimeter green.

He said another statementmaking feature was the twin flamingo lake gardens with landscape parks, measuring 5.44ha in total.

“Buyers actually lined up the night before the launching to be first in line to purchase units fronting the flamingo lakes.

“One of the two flamingo lakes is expected to be completed before Chinese New Year next year and this will be another milestone for the project since its launch.

“There is a reason why we chose the flamingo. They are synonymous with this area, being a former stop for the migratory birds.

“More importantly, both the internal and external landscape is meticulously curated and detailed to offer buyers a wide vista of nature the moment they step in,” he told NST Property.

Rows and rows of greenery lined the main entrance to the Eco Horizon sales gallery and the show units, strategically located next to Lebuhraya Bandar Cassia, right after the Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah bridge.

The show units were completed earlier last month.

Chan said other unique features of the project were the elegant gateway, which is a welcoming sight after a whole day of being outside, as well as the signature master roundabout and precinct gazebo.

Eco Horizon is a 120ha mixed integrated township development, with 82.8ha for the residential segment, 25.2ha for commercial and 12ha for greenery, parks and roads.

With a gross development value of about RM7 billion, it will be developed over the next decade.

Work on the first phase, named the Ashton Collection, has begun, comprising double-storey terraced houses, super links and garden houses with built-up areas between 2,290sq ft and 2,422 sq ft.

The units are priced at between RM858,000 and RM1.02 million each.

This will be followed by three more phases, namely the Brydon, Camdon and Dawson Collections.

The Ashton Collection comprises 704 units, of which 424 units had been snapped up at the launch. All the units will be completed in 2020.

The Eco Horizon development is Batu Kawan’s first-ever gated and guarded township .

Chan said plans for the subsequent collections and commercial component would be revealed in stages, with the latter being the last to be developed.
