MANCHESTER City manager Pep Guardiola, it is learnt, will come to Johor if the Citizens win the English Premier League.

This was made known via a statement on the official Facebook page of Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT), the Johor Southern Tigers yesterday.

According to the statement, the visit of the former Barcelona manager is to share football ideas with JDT.

“On October 19, 2016, Tunku Mahkota Johor (TMJ), Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim had met with Pep Guardiola during the match where Manchester City played Barcelona in Spain.

“Pep Guardiola extended his hand and promised to come to the state of Johor to share ideas and to visit Johor Darul Ta’zim football project if Manchester City triumph and win the Premier League.

“For your information, Manchester City are now top of the Premier League,” said the statement.

This could become a reality following City’s impressive form as the Citizens lead the Premier League by a 15-point margin over their closest rivals after 20 matches so far this season.

If this were to happen, it will bring about a huge, positive impact on the four-time Malaysia Super League champions, in terms of getting ideas and thoughts from one of the world’s top coaches.

Earlier, JDT were reported to have cultivated good ties with a few top European clubs such as Germany’s Borussia Dortmund and Spanish club Valencia.

JDT are currently in pre-season training for the 2018 MLeague season opener against Kedah in the Charity Shield match on Feb 3.
