Nora unveils new cosmetic line
FANS of actress Nora Danish will be able to see her on the big screen this year in the upcoming movies Makrifat Cinta and Bukan Cinta Malaikat.
However, the 35-year-old, who is six months pregnant, will also be flexing her entrepreneurial muscles this year. After a café and fashion line, the petite star is launching a new product.
When met at an unveiling event in Kuala Lumpur for her new brand, Oh Most Wanted, Nora said: “This brand has been in the market for two years, but no one knew that I was behind it.
“We were doing market research, product validation, and research and development to get it right. But, I was working behind the scenes due to my previous commitments as ambassador to a few beauty and skin products.”
Although the focus for her brand is Malaysia, Nora said her aim was to go big.
“This is our commercialisation year, and we treat it as a professional business,” she said of the project. She is one of six business partners, who include her husband, Nedim Nazri, and two doctors.
The products are sold in Singapore, Brunei and Japan, as well as European countries, like Russia, France and the United Kingdom, in small quantities.
Going by the tagline, “It seals and heals”, Nora said Oh Most Wanted had four products, including a lip cream and foundation.
“These products are not only cosmetics, but also pharmaceutical as they nourish, heal and protect the skin.”
Nora, who is expected to deliver a baby in March, said she would pursue this project more actively after her confinement period.
“We want to inspire and foster more entrepreneurs through this.”
Nora said she was opening up the brand to resellers. Before the unveiling, she had over 100 resellers, but added that she wanted to get about 1,000 this year.
On other artistes who are also producing their own cosmetic lines, Nora said that it was not a competition.
“We are industry players and have our own strengths, so I see it as a way to keep the industry vibrant. I still post other artistes’ products and brands on my social media accounts. We support each other.”
