Victims to be buried in Choa Chu Kang Muslim cemetery in Singapore
THE remains of four Singaporeans who were killed in an accident at the Lukut-Sepang Tjunction here on Wednesday have been claimed by family members at Port Dickson Hospital.
It is learnt that the victims will be buried at Choa Chu Kang Muslim Cemetery in Singapore.
In the 2.30pm incident on Wednesday, Rosli Samad, 54, his wife, Maimunah Sapari, 51, and their two daughters, Dayana Sarah and Nor Amalina, aged 18 and 21, respectively, were killed when a lorry crashed into their car in a multiple vehicle accident, which involved two other cars and a motorcycle.
Five others were also injured in the accident.
When met at the hospital, Rosli’s friend, who refused to be named, said he rushed from Singapore as soon as he learnt of the accident.
“He was a good friend. He is known as a good motorcycle mechanic and we have been friends for eight years. As a friend, this is the least I could do to help him for the last time,” he said, adding that he was shocked and saddened by Rosli’s sudden passing.
“They were on their way back to Singapore when the accident took place. Rosli has four children, two boys and two girls. However, his sons didn’t join the trip,” he said.
He added that earlier, Rosli’s body had been sent to Tuanku Jaafar Hospital for a postmortem while his wife and daughters’ bodies were sent to Port Dickson Hospital.
He said three hearses would be used to bring the remains of the victims back to Singapore.
Rosli’s cousin, from Shah Alam Selangor, who also did not want be named, said she found out about the accident on Wednesday night via a Facebook post.
“I immediately contacted my family members in Singapore to confirm the news. It was shocking, sad news to all of us,” she said.
Earlier, family members of the victims were seen gathering at the hospital as early as 8am yesterday.
