HE’S a murder-robbery suspect named Misumi. If convicted, he’ll face the death penalty. What’s surprising is that he freely admits his guilt. On top of that, he’s already served jail time for another murder 30 years ago.

Leading attorney Shigemori takes on his defence and is on the case, even though his chances of winning it is extremely low.

But as he digs deeper into the case, hearing the testimonies of the victim’s family and Misumi himself, Shigemori begins realise that perhaps his client is not the murderer after all.

This is a Japanese movie presented by GSC International Screen.

The 125-minute mystery drama is directed by Kore-eda Hirokazu and stars Masaharu Fukuyama, Koji Yakusho and Isao Hashizume.
