PARTI Warisan Sabah (Warisan) vice-president Datuk Peter Anthony has been remanded for three days until tomorrow to assist investigations into the purchase of a RM155 million oil palm land in Sabah.

The order was issued by magistrate Cindy Mc Juce Balitus following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC).

Anthony, 46, was detained at 1pm on Friday after giving a statement to MACC.

Anti-graft officers went to his house to retrieve documents.

Anthony’s counsel, Martin Tommy, said his client was supposed to be released yesterday and he had prepared documents to submit to MACC.

“But this morning (yesterday), I was contacted by MACC, who said they would be applying for a remand order at the court.”

Peter, with a Bible in hand, appeared calm as he entered the court at 11am.

MACC senior enforcement officer Khairudin Kilau prosecuted.

Anthony was remanded under Section 16(a)(A) of the MACC Act 2009 for bribery.

He was arrested on Oct 5 last year and was released on bail on Oct 13.

He was among 13 remanded by MACC to facilitate investigations over alleged misappropriation of rural project funds for Sabah.
