‘Greater service frequency needed’

-

COMMUTERS are urging Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd to increase bus service frequency, especially in the city centre where many people depend on public transport.

They said there were not enough buses during the morning and evening peak hours at locations such as Pasar Seni, KL Sentral and Mid Valley Megamall.

Aminah Badrul, 27, said she sometimes had to wait for the 8pm bus service, instead of taking the 6pm or 7pm bus due to the large number of commuters traveling during the rush hour.

“The number of people commuting via public transport have gone up in the past few years and I am sure the trend will continue in the future.

“I believe there is a need for Rapid Bus to study the situation and consider increasing the regularity of its services in the city centre,” she said.

ACTIONLINE:

Rapid Bus Sdn Bhd said it had increased the regularity of bus services for the 600 route (Puchong Utama — Pasar Seni 4) and 602 route (Puchong Prima Pasar Seni 5) as part of efforts to improve services since November last year.

Rapid Bus said there was a bus every five minutes from 5.20am to 8.30pm and every 20 minutes from 8.30pm to 11.30pm on route 600.

And, the company said, there was a bus every 10 minutes from 5.20am to 8.30pm and every 30 minutes from 8.30pm to 11.30pm on route 602.
