THE move by Pakatan Harapan to name Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as its prime ministerial candidate is just another drama, said Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir.

He said it was ironic that the opposition chose the very person they wanted to oust as its candidate to helm the government.

“Previously, the opposition was against Dr Mahathir and Reformasi was established for the purpose of toppling him.

“However, they (the opposition) had recently named him, the same person they tried to topple and called Maha Firaun (to describe dictatorship), as the candidate for the prime minister’s post (should the opposition win the general election).

“The person who was their No. 1 enemy is being promoted and supported to topple the Barisan Nasional government and convince the people that they have the alternative for the current administration.

“The move by the opposition to win the 14th General Election is akin to Reformasi 2.0.

“However, by now, the people can see that this is just another drama,” he said.

On the allocation of seats by Pakatan Harapan among the parties, Zambry said it could be carried out on a trial basis and to get response from the voters.

“(But) from my analysis, I see that DAP will benefit from all this as the 35 seats allocated to the party in the peninsula are mostly constituencies that its leaders are representing, as well as those with high chances of winning,” said Zambry, who is also state BN chairman.

On a separate matter, Zambry said the cooperation between Gerakan and MCA would ensure the election machinery could be strengthened as a team.

“MCA represents the Chinese while Gerakan, although a multiracial party, has a membership of mostly Chinese.

“The collaboration is vital for the grassroots to work hard and yield results,” he
