‘Just a misunderstanding’

-

THE Malaysian Snooker and Billiards Federation (MSBF) have claimed that the “AGM” issue with the Sports Commissioner’s Office (SCO) is merely a misunderstanding.

MSBF president Melvin Chia disclosed yesterday that they had informed the SCO after the Kuala Lumpur Sea Games that MSBF had decided to postpone their Annual General Meeting (AGM) until after Chinese New Year.

SCO earlier this month sent MSBF a final warning letter to submit details on eight different areas including financial reports, activity and programme reports, line-up of office bearers and also minutes of their AGM.

According to SCO’s records, MSBF last held their AGM in 2013.

Melvin explained that MSBF have been going through a transition period.

“This is actually a misunderstanding as we had informed them (SCO) last year that we were postponing our AGM until after CNY this year,” said Melvin yesterday.

“We did hold our AGM in 2015, however, the information may not have been relayed to SCO.

Melvin added that the national players under MSBF have consistently been doing well despite their administrative issues.

This was underlined by Moh Keen Ho and Lim Kok Leong’s victory in the pairs event at the China City Snooker Club Team League Grand Final earlier this week. Fadhli Ishak
