Three foreign stars sent off

-

EIGHT yellow cards and three green cards marred the Premier League encounter between Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) and UniKL which finished 2-2 at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

The astonishing number of cards flashed during the match resulted in THT having to do without the services of Lopez Barreiros, Gonzalo Peillat and Moritz Erhard in the fourth quarter after the umpire flashed the yellow card to the three imports.

In fact, the tense match between the two sides forced match umpires R. Anbanathan and Eric Koh to flash yellow cards to five UniKL players as both sides settled for a point each.

Faizal Saari scored THT’s equaliser in the 43rd minute after putting them in the lead as early as the ninth minute.

The two UniKL goals were scored by their Dutch import Jeroen Hertzberger in the 17th and 18th minutes.

Meanwhile, defending champions KLHC continued with their excellent form with their second win in a row as they thrashed TNB Thunderbolts 7-0 at the KLHA Stadium.

South Korean Lee Nam Yong was their hero as he scored a hattrick through field goals in the 11th, 20th and 41st minutes.

KLHC’s other goals were scored by Thomas Carson in the 9th minute, Jang Jong Hyun (24th minute), Dedy Ariyadi Jumaidi (30th minute) and Matthew Willis (42nd minute). Naqib Nor Said
