‘Hadi’s PAN remark shows his fears’

-

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) Youth chief Abbas Azmi claims the Pas leadership is getting more worried about the loyalty of its members ahead of the 14th General Election.

This was in response to Pas president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang’s branding of PAN as a “mosquito party” that did not pose any threat, which Abbas sees as a denial of the mass exodus of Pas members who had joined PAN.

“That is his attitude. He likes describing others as animals. Is PAN a party of mosquitoes? He should not forget Islamic history, where Nimrod’s death was caused by a mosquito. It is also the reason why hospital beds are filled with dengue patients,” said Abbas.

“My advice to him is to not underestimate tiny creatures because sometimes, they can be lethal.”

Abbas said Hadi’s statement did not surprise him as the veteran leader was famous for issuing senseless statements.

“He should be more careful and act in a more mature way when issuing statements,” said Abbas.

While launching the Selangor Pas election machinery yesterday, Hadi said the party was planning to form its own government or join the formation of the new government after the general election. He described Selangor as one of the states in which Pas could achieve a big victory.
