IT’S been a while since we last saw popular celebrity chef Datuk Redzuawan Ismail a.k.a. Chef Wan on a TV show.

Recently, the social media was abuzz when the 60-year-old was seen photographed with Hong Kong actor, singer and TV chef Nicholas Tse and Italian-Canadian celebrity chef David Rocco in the quiet town of Ipoh, Perak.

The garrulous chef revealed on his Instagram that the two international stars were in town to film part of a new cook-off show.

“Ili Sulaiman is here as one of our guest judges, besides chef Boon from the resort (The Banjaran Hotsprings Retreat) for the cook-off challenge with chef David Rocco and chef Nicholas Tse,” he wrote in one of a series of postings on the show.

It is believed that Tse and Rocco are in the country to film and promote a new show called Celebrity Chef: East Vs West ,an original production of FOX Networks Group Asia.

The five-part series will see the two celebrities travelling to different cities in Asia (including Ipoh and Kuala Lumpur) to learn about the city, its food and culture, and finally putting their culinary skills to test by preparing a local dish handpicked by a local chef.

Impressed with the foreign production team and crew, Chef Wan highlighted their professionalism in an Instagram post.

He wrote: “7 am all set and ready to go... Tak tahu pukul berapa la production team ini got up to get all this set up... international series full of professional TV crew with great experience...know exactly what to do...”
