Red hot KLHC hammer TNB Thunderbol­ts

Hockey Club (KLHC) were unstoppabl­e in their 4-0 thrashing of TNB Thunderbol­ts in a Malaysian Hockey League (MHL) Premier Division match at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil yesterday.

South Korea’s Jang Jonghyun fired a brace in the third and 55th minutes while Australia’s Nicholas Budgeon (31st) and Englishman Thomas Carson (49th) completed the rout for KLHC.

KLHC coach Lim Chiow Chuan said: “We achieved our mission for three points.”

“We did not play Razie Rahim today as he is on duty while Nabil Fiqri Mohd Noor and Izad Hakimi Jamaluddin are still carrying injuries. However, I am confident Nabil will recover in time for our next match,” he said.

KLHC have garnered 11 points following three wins and two draws.

In another match, Terengganu Hockey Team (THT) were held 1-1 by Universiti Kuala Lumpur (UniKL) at the Batu Buruk Stadium in Kuala Terengganu.

THT took the lead through Faizal Saari in the 34th minute before Izwan Firdaus Ahmad Tajuddin equalised for UniKL in the 51st minute.

UniKL coach A. Arul Selvaraj said: “It was a difficult match as we had to defend stoutly against THT.”
