TM eyes 500,000 new unifi customers

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Telekom Malaysia Bhd (TM) targets to secure 500,000 customers for its unifi home service, following the launch of its unifi consolidated brand yesterday.

TM executive vice-president (consumer and SME) Imri Mokhtar said the plan would be supported by the group’s aggressive marketing efforts this year.

“As of July 2017, we already surpassed the one-million-subscriber milestone since the launch of unifi services nationwide in 2010.

“With the launch of our marketing campaign nationwide, which included door-to-door marketing, we target to grow the number to 1.5 million subscribers by end-2018,” he said after the launch of the refreshed unifi brand, here, yesterday.

On its public WiFi, Imri said TM planned to increase the coverage to 100,000 locations by year-end, from the current 10,000 nationwide.

This is part of the group’s efforts to provide more connectivity to the public and get more people to ride on the infrastructure.

Meanwhile, TM yesterday unveiled the refreshed brand look and feel of the unifi high-speed broadband services.

It is anchored in the group’s tagline of “Accelerated Convergence and Empowering Digital”.

The launch showcased unifi’s latest look and offerings from home, WiFi, mobile and TV. This followed the announcement of its rebranded TV and video streaming service from HyppTV to unifi TV on January 12.

Imri said TM was now the only brand in Malaysia that offered truly seamless Internet connectivity everywhere — at home, public WiFi, mobile services and TV — under one roof.
