'Top player' Sanchez in United’s FA Cup squad

-

LONDON: Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho yesterday hailed new signing Alexis Sanchez as one of the “best attacking players in the world”, confirming he will be in the squad to face Yeovil in the FA Cup.

United travel to the fourth-tier club today at the start of a weekend that will also see Premier League leaders Manchester City tested by Championship highfliers Cardiff and Liverpool taking on West Brom in the fourth round.

United's new number seven, who has previously played for Italian side Udinese and Barcelona, is available for the Huish Park tie because he did not appear for Arsenal in their thirdround loss at Nottingham Forest.

“We'’e got one of the best attacking players in the world. I think he’ll be very important for us because we want to have the best players possible,” Mourinho told reporters.

Arsenal are hoping to complete Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's signing in the coming days — and the striker could make his debut against Swansea City next Tuesday.

The Gunners have increased their offer for Borussia Dortmund star Aubameyang to £50.9 million (RM282 million), with Arsene Wenger keen on bolstering his attacking ranks following the departure of Sanchez to Manchester United.

Talks are ongoing between club representatives with Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud also part of negotiations.

And, according to Bild, Wenger is already planning on handing the Gabon forward his first outing against the Swans next week.

The Gunners have bid much closer to Dortmund’s valuation of £53 million for Aubameyang.
