THE Registry of Societies’s (Ros) validation of DAP central executive committee (CEC) re-election proves that it is fair in discharging its duties, a former DAP leader said.

Former DAP Bagan Luar branch chairman G. Asoghan said it proved that Ros’s decision was independent and not influenced by anyone.

As such, he said, DAP should be thankful to the government for giving a new lifeline to the party as it could have been deregistered by Ros.

“We respect Ros’s decision that the CEC re-election on Nov 12 had fulfilled the stipulated conditions. It is good.

“Ros is fair in its decision, benefiting DAP, in this case,” he told the New Straits Times.

Asoghan, however, said the decision was based on the 2012 delegates list.

He said it was stated in the DAP constitution that the party had to conduct place. an election every three years.

“So, what about the election based on the 2015 delegates list? When is DAP going to conduct it?

“We hope Ros will look into this and do the necessary.

“We hope it will be fair to the very end,” he said, adding that only then, would everything fall into

On Saturday, Ros concluded that the re-election on Nov 12 had fulfilled the stipulated conditions.

In a statement, Ros had said that international audit firm Grant Thornton, which was assigned by DAP, had submitted the full report of the re-election through a letter dated Nov 27.

Ros had received 17 complaints on DAP’s CEC re-election since Nov 28.

The complaints were from Selangor, Penang and Negri Sembilan.
