Azmin: Sallehen has yet to meet me
SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali said state Pas commissioner Sallehen Mukhyi had yet to meet him to discuss matters related to the alleged frozen annual RM800,000 allocation meant for the Islamist party’s assemblymen.
Azmin had earlier said that assemblymen facing issues with the annual allocation should see him.
“I have said this before. Any state assemblymen can meet me or district officers if they have issues with the annual allocation.
“Several assemblymen have come to see me, but Sallehen has not. But I have received a request from Sallehen to meet and I will schedule a meeting soon.
“I do not think there is a problem with the allocation at all. If there is, we can discuss it,” he said after attending the Former Security Personnel Convention (Pahlawan) at Dewan Raja Muda Musa in Section 7 here yesterday.
Sallehen had earlier claimed that Selangor Pas assemblymen were barred from getting the annual allocation after receiving the information from the state economic planning unit.
Sallehen, who is also Sabak assemblyman, had said that he would not hesitate to refer the matter to the Selangor palace if it was true.
Azmin had retorted that it was a technical issue and criticised Sallehen for wanting to drag the palace into the affairs of the state.
Azmin, who is also PKR deputy president, had once again dismissed claims made by Pakatan Harapan insiders that the annual allocation meant for Selangor Pas assemblymen had been diverted to his party’s assemblymen, members of parliament as well as constituency coordinators.
“That is an unfounded allegation. It is untrue.”
On his Pakatan counterparts — DAP’s Ronnie Liu and Selangor Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) chairman Izham Hashim — openly attacking him over the 14th General Election (GE14) seat allocation discussions, Azmin brushed it off by saying it was not a great concern.
“Who would not attack me? As a leader, I have to be patient and humble (tawaduk),” said Azmin.
Izham had reportedly labelled Azmin a “joker”, believed to be over the latter’s statement on four meetings by a special committee to discuss the state legislative seat distribution for GE14, where 80 per cent of it have been solved.
Izham had claimed that he was in the dark over seat negotiations with Azmin.
Liu took to social media to slam Azmin, questioning if it was true that PAN was lying over the matter and deeming Azmin unfit to be the state Pakatan chairman.
