KUALA LUMPUR: A group of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) Youth members urged the Registry of Societies (RoS) to investigate complaints and take action against the party as its annual general assembly (AGM) was carried out without complying with its constitution.

Muhamad Hafiz Azhar, who was a former PPBM Youth exco leader, said they were dissatisfied with RoS for the delay in taking action against the party and were giving it two weeks to look into the matter.

“If they fail to act within two weeks, we will hold a protest outside the PPBM headquarters.

“The investigation is taking too long and we believe there is something wrong.

“We felt defamed,” he told a press conference yesterday.

Another former PPBM Youth exco leader, Abd Wahazir Abd Wahabi, said RoS should not give any more excuses as evidence had been given to it.

Another member Muhammad Taufik Abas claimed that there was no sabotage by the disgruntled group as alleged by the party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.

RoS has received 249 complaints from PPBM members up to Tuesday.

Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said RoS was obligated to look into the complaints, adding that 47 out of 249 complaints showed that the party violated its constitution, as well as its rules and regulations.

RoS, he said, had been executing its duties in a professional manner, without being influenced by any organisation.
