SEMBRONG FOLK TO GET 2,000 HOMES
Federal Govt allocated RM97 million for project, says Hisham
THE Sembrong Housing Development Agenda (APSS) will see 2,000 housing units built for the low- and middle-income group by 2021.
Sembrong member of parliament Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the Federal Government had provided RM97 million, while the Johor government had allocated 24ha of land in Paloh for the purpose.
Hishammuddin, who is also defence minister, said APSS was timely as it ensured housing development in the constituency remained on track.
“This agenda falls under the housing cluster, and is one of the seven clusters which I had underlined to protect the welfare of the people in Sembrong.
“I also wish to extend my thanks to Housing and Local Government Minister Tan Sri Noh Omar, as well as the Johor government leadership. This reflects their fullest commitment to the initiative.”
Hishammuddin said this after launching the APSS People’s Housing Project and Johor Affordable Home schemes in PPR Felcra Sungai 10, Paloh, here yesterday.
Hishammuddin, who is also special functions minister in the Prime Minister’s Department, said via the housing agenda, 500 PPR units would be built under the Housing and Local Government Ministry; 500 units under the state government, as well as 550 Rumah Mesra Generasi Baru Felda in six Felda schemes in Sembrong.
“The housing project includes basic infrastructure, such as halls, mosques, playgrounds and schools. It will begin this year and be completed in 2021.”
He said the agenda was to ensure that the people of Sembrong lived in a comfortable and conducive environment.
