KUALA LUMPUR: A Road Transport Department (RTD) officer, who is alleged to have sexually harassed a 17-year-old student while she was taking her driving test, is now desk-bound.

RTD deputy director-general (operations) Datuk Wan Ahmad Uzir Wan Sulaiman said the action against the officer was taken pending an investigation into the allegations.

“We regret that this has happened. The officer is no longer allowed to administer driving tests. If the allegations are found to be true, further action will be taken against the officer,” he said.

It was reported that the alleged victim, who is the niece of a politician, was the target of an RTD officer’s unwanted attention on Wednesday.

The officer had allegedly asked her personal and obscene questions.

He had allegedly showed her pornographic video clips on his mobile phone.

He also allegedly asked her for pictures of herself in sexy outfits.

She shared her experience on Instagram the same day.

Wan Ahmad Uzir said the girl and her father had lodged a complaint with RTD over the incident and were cooperating in the investigation.

“They went to the Selangor RTD headquarters in Shah Alam.

“We will look into the complaint to ascertain the details of the incident.”
