Isuzu unveils upgraded D-Max models

-

Malaysia Sdn Bhd, the main distributor for Isuzu vehicles in Malaysia, has introduced new D-Max models with upgraded exterior and interior, as well as a new colour option.

The new D-Max Premium 3.0 litre and 2.5 litre and Z-Prestige are now equipped with user-friendly eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Bluetooth, global positioning system (GPS), smart mirroring, WiFi and USB functions.

The Premium AT (3.0L) and Z-Prestige also come with leather seats.

The D-Maz Z prestige variant is fitted with a sliding cargo tray, which is an optional accessory for the rest of the D-Max variants.

The cargo tray slides to the back of the cargo area to allow easier loading and unloading of items. It also helps to reduce the instances of back injury as the user can lift the weight closer to the body.

A new Cavalry Mica purple will replace the old Nautilus Mica blue as a colour option for the truck. The colour appears blackish under dark conditions and a dark shade of purple under the sun.

“The enhanced Isuzu D-Max retains its core values such as fuel efficiency, durability, and reliability. The improvements in its exterior and interior are made in accordance to users’ needs so that it will be favourably acknowledged in Malaysia,” said Isuzu Malaysia chief executive operating officer Masayuku Suzuki.

The Isuzu D-Max is powered by either a 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine or a 3.0-litre turbodiesel engine. The 2.5-litre engine produces 134hp at 3,600rpm and 320Nm of torque at 1,800 to 2,800rpm. As for the 3.0-litre engine option, it develops 175hp at 3,600rpm and 380Nm at 1,800 to 2,800rpm.

Both engine options are mated to either a five-speed manual transmission with gear shift indicator or a five-speed automatic transmission with sequential shift.

Standard accessories includes 18-alloy wheels, leather steering, LED taillights, shark fin antenna, side steps, front fog lamps and eight-speaker surround sound system.

As for safety features, it is equipped with an anti-lock braking system, electronic brake distribution, brake assist, hill start assist, traction control, electronic stability control and ISOFIX childseat mounting points.

For the Malaysian market, the D-Max is priced from RM105,811 (on the road without insurance) with a five-year warranty or 150,000km mileage, whichever comes first.
