Liow: Opposition continues to spread hatred, divide people

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The opposition should stop spreading fake news to confuse people as the 14th General Election draws near, said MCA president Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai.

“It is very frustrating to read about fake news spun by the opposition to deter people from exercising their right to vote.

“The opposition continues to spread hatred.

“They divide the people by disseminating fake news.

“This is very disturbing. People are fed up.

“People want to build the nation, not destroy it.

“Enough is enough!” he said at the “Going 50: People Behind The TARC History” event at Tunku Abdul Rahman University College (TAR UC) here.

Liow, who is Bentong member of parliament, was commenting on the #undirosak campaign, which had gone viral recently.

He said despite the spread of fake news by the opposition, MCA was ready to build an outstanding nation.

He urged voters to pay no heed to unreliable sources and allegations, and focus on a stable government for an effective administration.

“The people must come out to vote because they have the freedom to do so. “This a democratic country.

“If they don’t vote for a strong and stable government, we will not have one.”

On Seabed Constructor that reportedly went offline in the search for the missing Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 last week, Liow, who is also transport minister, said it had arrived at its docking point.

“The vessel has arrived safely and we will get the latest information on the matter from the response team led by Civil Aviation Department director-general Datuk Azharuddin Abdul Rahman.

“As for MH370, we will keep the media updated weekly,” he added.

On TAR UC’s event, Liow said MCA would continue to provide education to the people, regardless of race, gender and creed.
