Tres Lala for your skin

- Nadia Badarudin

A NEW local skincare brand inspired by K-beauty (Korean beauty) is the talk of the town among Malaysian beauty buffs for its range of products to pamper the skin.

Chicly named Tres Lala, the Kuala Lumpur-based brand combines the best of local ingredients and nature-based remedies like honey as well as Korean beauty expertise and technology.

“I’m an avid fan of Korean cosmetics and beauty products. I’m impressed by the effectiveness of Korean products as well as their product concepts and presentations. That’s how I came up with the idea to create a Malaysian skincare brand with products that are suitable for our climate but using Korean technology and approaches,” says Tres Lala founder and chief executive officer Aliaa Sharif.

“I founded Tres Lala to bring the very best of Korean skincare trends and technology to Malaysians.”

“Tres” is a French word that means “very” while “Lala” is Aliaa’s nickname.

Aliaa has been working with her partners in Seoul, Korea, since early 2016 to do research and development. Tres Lala made its debut in the local beauty scene in December last year with its hydrating and whitening range that combines natural wonders and remedies with the best of science.

Targeting customers aged between 18 and 40, the paraben-free range comprises six aqua-based products, including cleanser, toner, hydrating mist, serum, moisturising cream and sleeping mask, with propolis, royal jelly and botanical extracts as the main ingredients.

The regenerative and healing properties of propolis and royal jelly are an excellent addition to any skincare routine, says Aliaa.

“Unlike the standard 10-step skincare regime practised by Korean beauty buffs, Tres Lala offers six essential steps or six products that can be complemented with other products that the customer uses in her skincare routine. “The products are gentle enough for all skin types and are affordable too,” Aliaa adds.

Tres Lala’s hydrating and whitening range is retailing between RM69 and RM129 and available via www.treslala.com as well as selected online retailers such as MySMINK, ModeFair, Lazada and Hishop.
