Raja Teh Maimu­nah named Women Icon 2017

KUALA LUMPUR: AmIn­vest­ment Bank Bhd chief ex­ec­u­tive of­fi­cer Raja Teh Maimu­nah Raja Abdul Aziz, who is also Am­Bank Group man­ag­ing di­rec­tor of whole­sale bank­ing, has been named the Women Icon Malaysia 2017 at the Women Icons Sum­mit & Awards re­cently.

Raja Teh Maimu­nah has more than 23-year ex­pe­ri­ence in bank­ing and fi­nance, with fo­cus on Is­lamic and in­vest­ment bank­ing.

She is cur­rently the ad­viser on Is­lamic bank­ing and fi­nance to the World Is­lamic Eco­nomic Fo­rum Foun­da­tion, a board mem­ber of Is­lamic Bank­ing and Fi­nance In­sti­tute Malaysia, and a mem­ber of the Is­lamic Fi­nance com­mit­tee for the Malaysian In­sti­tute of Ac­coun­tants.

She was pre­vi­ously awarded a law honorary doc­tor­ate from the Univer­sity of East Lon­don, the United King­dom, and also holds a law de­gree with hon­ours from the same univer­sity.

The Women Icons Sum­mit & Awards cel­e­brates and hon­ours the ac­com­plish­ments and con­tri­bu­tions of women who have ex­celled in dif­fer­ent spheres of life.

The ini­tia­tive un­der­scores the para­mount role played by women in the so­ci­ety, while ap­pre­ci­at­ing their at­ti­tudes, ini­tia­tives, will power and per­se­ver­ance.

The Women Icons are those who have dis­tin­guished them­selves as prom­i­nent cit­i­zens that have dis­played a strong met­tle and ca­pa­bil­ity to per­form well in any field of en­deav­ours.
