In this month of festivity and celebrations of Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year, Dorsett Grand Subang and Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara raised many smiles from residents of Siri Jayanti Metta Care Centre when the hotel hosted a luncheon on February 13 for 14 underprivileged elderly.

The annual charity event was part of Dorsett Grand Subang and Kiwanis Club of Bukit Kiara’s corporate social responsibility programme to give back to the community and less fortunate. The underprivileged elderly, aged between 65 and 86 were accompanied by volunteer workers from the home and home caretaker K.L. Tan. Kah Peng, welcomed the elderly with the hotel’s management team.

The celebration started with the tossing of “Yee Sang” for good health and prosperity, and followed by a sumptuous buffet lunch. A line-up of entertainment, such as a keyboard performance and singing session, was held throughout the event.

“It is our pleasure to host the elderly from

Siri Jayanti Metta Care Centre. To share the tender loving and care, especially during festive occasions. In conjunction with Chinese New Year this year, we want to ensure that they too, join in the festivity and togetherness”, said Jasmine.

The event ended with the distribution of ang pow packets and gift packs (consisting of Dorsett signature sugar-friendly chocolate chips cookies, chocolate pralines and mandarin oranges) by Jasmine, Toh and Loke to the elderly. As a memento, they were also given instant print-out photos.
