Great Eastern opens Johor office

-

KUALA LUMPUR: Great Eastern Life Assurance (Malaysia) Bhd has officially opened the Wisma Great Eastern, developed at a cost of RM38 million, in Southkey Mosaic — an integrated township located in a rapidly developing business centre in Johor Baru.

Great Eastern Life and Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Bhd chairman Norman Ip Ka Cheung said as the city continues to grow from strength to strength, the company is well placed to better meet the needs of its customers and business partners, strengthening its commitment to a city it has served for over 50 years.

Ip said the new location is strategic, offering unparalleled accessibility with proximity to Senai International Airport, Johor Baru Eastern Dispersal Link Expressway, JB Sentral, as well as planned stations for the Rapid Transit System and high speed rail.

The new office building has a built-up area of 24,359 sq ft, spread over four storeys equipped with high-speed broadband facilities, a premier business lounge, training rooms and a seminar hall that can accommodate up to 600 people, he added.

Great Eastern Life chief executive officer Datuk Koh Yaw Hui said the new office building provides a central touchpoint for life insurance, general insurance, family takaful, bancassurance and group insurance.

“We are confident that our business here will continue to expand as the city grows. We are serious about advancing our business in Johor Baru and we are here to stay,” he said.
