KUALA LUMPUR: Private education provider Minda Global Bhd expects to develop new programmes to expand its study disciplines and improve student intake growth.

The company, which made its debut on Bursa Malaysia yesterday by taking over the listing status of Asiamet Education Group Bhd (AEGB), also plans to relocate the recently-acquired Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences (CUCMS) to a new purpose-built campus by the middle of this year, it said in a statement.

Minda Global director Tan Sri Dr R. Palan said the move would help double the university’s current capacity, while providing world-class student experiences and enhancing teaching and learning infrastructure.

Based on the company’s circular to shareholders, the new campus can accommodate about 8,000 students.

“We have a larger group, strong institutional synergy, new board members with strong reputation and a new senior management team. With these elements in place, we are well-positioned to face the challenges of the industry,” said Palan.

The Minda Global group caters to more than 5,000 students, comprising 35 nationalities and its international school is fullylicensed by the Education Ministry.
