-

KUALA LUMPUR: An award ceremony to uplift and recognise small- and medium-sized entrepreneurs will be organised by Jelajah Usahawan Malaysia Pakar.

It will recognise entrepreneurs’ contributions to the economy and will be held at Majestic Hotel here on March 9.

One Awards 18 organising chairman Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid said there would be seven categories.

“The categories are Small Medium Enterprises, Financial Services, Bumiputera in Business, Online Business, Women in Business, Special Talent Entrepreneur and Property.

“We have received 250 nominations.”

She said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi would present the awards.

“We will invite banks to come and witness the hard work of these entrepreneurs.

“Perhaps, through the banks’ representatives, entrepreneurs can learn more about how to develop their businesses by getting bank loans.”

Winners will receive trophies and certificates.

Nurulhidayah, who is patron for Jaringan Pakar Berjaya Association, said an entrepreneurship seminar would be conducted at One City, Subang Jaya, on March 8.

“Admission is free, but we have limited seats for 1,000 participants. Our line-up of speakers consists of Datuk Seri Mahadi Zaman, Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri, Wak Doyok, Nurulhidayah, Datuk Dr Nazri Khan, Vivy Yusof and Datuk Dr Lawrence.”

She said there would be an exclusive two-hour session by Second Finance Minister Datuk Seri Johari Abdul Ghani.

Present at the media conference were One Awards 2018 chief executive officer Datuk Seri Mahadi Badrul Zaman and adviser Datuk Dr Lawrence Walter Ng.
