3RD #GEGARIA SET TO DRAW 30,000
Saturday’s event in Kuantan will feature 5 main areas, online games and star celebs
THE third edition of GegaRia Festival, which will take place this Saturday at Stadium Darul Makmur here, is expected to attract 30,000 visitors. Programme coordinator and the New Straits Times Press (NSTP) advertising manager Mohd Anis Abdullah said he was confident the target of visitors could be achieved based on the good reception at the previous two editions in Selangor and Johor.
He said the first edition of #GegaRia, which was held at the Setia City Convention Centre in Shah Alam, managed to attract 25,000 visitors, while the second edition at the Angsana Johor Baru Mall on Feb 3 brought in 30,000 people.
“We are confident of attracting 30,000 visitors, So far, we have received 800 registrations to participate in the festival.
“The appearance of local artistes like Mira Filzah, Elfira Loy, Awal Ashaari and Scha Alyahya at the third edition of the festival will make the event more exciting, more so with the presence of many visitors, especially from the younger generation,” he said here yesterday.
Anis said the one-day festival was expected to start as early as 7.30am, and was divided into five zones.
They are #Gegaria Makan-Makan, #Gegaria Throwback Tunnel, #Gegaria Lifestyle, #Gegaria Community and #Gegaria Entertainment.
Anis said various facilities would also be in place for the comfort of visitors, such as a mobile surau for Muslims to pray and a food court offering various delicacies.
He said the Media Prima Bhd group festival was also organising a multiplayer “League of Legends” online game.
The highlight of the festival would be the concert, which is scheduled to start at 8.45pm.
It will feature performances by popular artistes, such as Akim & The Majistret, Bunkface, Masdo and Noh Salleh.
