NSTP journalists win five awards at PKNS Media Night
SHAH ALAM: New Straits Times Press (Malaysia) Bhd’s Harian Metro won five awards at the PKNS Media Night, organised by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS), on Friday.
NSTP journalist Firdaus Hashim started the ball rolling when he won the Best Sports News Award. NSTP photographer Rosela Ismail took home the Best Picture Award and NSTP Shah Alan bureau stringer Ayusliza Azizan won the Best Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) News Report.
In addition to the top place finishing, NSTP Shah Alam bureau stringers Siti Nor Amirah Abu Bakar won second place for Best Corporate News Award, while Amrullah Abdul Karim won the third place for the Best Picture Award.
All took home trophies and cash prizes, which were presented by PKNS chief executive officer Datin Noraida Mohd Yusof.
Present were Berita Harian executive editor Datuk Ahmad Zaini Kamaruzzaman, Harian Metro executive editor Tuan Mohamad Asri Tuan Hussein and Malaysian Press Institute trustee and secretary Datuk Mustapa Omar.
Noraida said the PKNS Media Night recognised and showed appreciation to media practitioners, who helped PKNS strengthen its brand and reputation.
She said this is the second time PKNS was holding the event to boost cooperation between PKNS and media agencies.
“PKNS appreciates the contributions of media partners through the high-value writing in delivering their news, which is the medium of communication between this organisation and the community at large.”
