Two lucky women elated at winning PR1MA homes

-

ALOR STAR: It was a dream come true for P. Amathurvaly, 63, when she was announced one of two grand prize winners at Ekspo Muafakat Kedah 2018 yesterday.

Amathurvaly visited the expo on Friday with daughter S. Nalini, and tried her luck in the lucky draw after collecting all 19 stamps from exhibition clusters.

Nalini said her mother had always wanted to buy a terrace house because she was too old to climb up to the fifth floor of Flat Alor Malai in Jalan Langgar here, where she has been residing for 43 years.

“We came yesterday to take part in the lucky draw, and prayed hard that we win a house.

“This win is so much sweeter because it was presented by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak,” she said after the prize giving ceremony yesterday.

Amarthuvaly won a 1Malaysia People’s Home (PR1MA) in Sungai Petani.

Meanwhile, Noor Azie Syamira Noor Yakin, 26, said she never dreamt that her plan to own a house would be granted this soon.

“I started working last year and was planning to own a house in 10 years.

“I can’t believe I won a house,” she said.

For night market trader Faizal Muhayudin, 35, the new Haval car won by his 2-year-old son, Muhammad Firash Fitri, would be put to good use.

“We are happy with the new car and would use it until Firash grows up,” he said.
