KL admit FMLLP fine will ruin them
Kuala Lumpur Football Association (KLFA) are dismayed that the RM1.5 million fine by FMLLP will deal their Super League team a big blow.
“We hope FMLLP will give due consideration to our appeal as the RM1.5 million fine can cripple a team,” said KLFA secretary-general Nokman Mustaffa yesterday.
He said KL, punished by FMLLP for failure to complete their M-League registration, will definitely be affected financially,
“We will be making an appeal before March 20. We hope that the fine is reduced or better still we are issued with a warning, since this is our first offence.
“We will even have to depend on FAM to pay the fine.”
On Tuesday, 10 M-League teams, including four Super League teams, were handed fines totalling RM9 million by Football Malaysia Limited Liability Partnership (FMLLP) for failing to complete their registration for this season.
Super League teams Kelantan, Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and PKNS FC were handed the heaviest fines, RM1.5 million each. Premier League teams, Sarawak, Penang, Kuantan FA, Police, Mifa and UKM FC were fined RM500,000.
The fines were imposed following Kelantan, Kuantan FA, Sarawak and Penang’s failures to complete the required document, while Mifa, UKM, Selangor, PKNS FC, Police and Kuala Lumpur sent their registration document after the March 5 deadline.
