PM: OPPOSITION PROMISES ARE POISONED HONEY

This is evident in problems plaguing opposition-run states, says Najib

THE opposition’s 14th General Election (GE14) promises are akin to “poisoned honey”, warns Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

Najib said this was evident from the opposition-run states’ failure to resolve issues, such as water disruption in Selangor.

Najib, who is Barisan Nasional chairman, gave his assurance that the coalition would resolve Selangor’s protracted water problems and other issues.

This, he said, was to ensure that the state continued to be the catalyst for national development.

He noted that the Selangor government’s failure to come up with the best solution to the water supply issue had not only caused suffering to the people, but had also adversely affected development in the state and the Federal Territory.

“Do not fall for the opposition’s promises. It is poisoned honey.

“We just need to look at the Selangor government. The major water issue (there) has negatively affected two million residents, who have to put up with low water pressure and low water quality.

“BN has succeeded in coming up with the MRT (Mass Rapid Transit), which utilises current technology. If BN can do this, we can definitely solve the water problem.

“With regard to housing, which area has the most expensive (houses)? Not in the BN state of Johor, but in Selangor and Penang, where more than 76 per cent of houses there cost more than RM1 million.

“Who and which state prioritised luxury homes, hillside development and a tunnel project?” he asked in reference to the DAPled Penang government.

Najib was speaking at the launch of the BN Youth and Puteri election machinery here yesterday. Present were Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin, BN Youth chief and Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin and Puteri Umno vicechief Zahida Zarik Khan.
