Amanah Raya offers 35pc discount on will-writing service
SHAH ALAM: Those wanting to draw up wills can take advantage of the 35 per cent discount offered by Amanah Raya Bhd as part of a Chinese New Year package till March 31.
The company’s marketing and sales manager Mohd Yazid Shuaib said the normal charge for willwriting was RM530, but the discounted rate would see customers having to pay only RM350.
“We have had a good response for our promotion, especially from non-Bumiputeras... they understand how important it is for them to have wills,” he said after a talk at the MyRumah Property Showcase at the SACC shopping centre here.
Yazid said, however, that the level of awareness about the importance of having a will among Malaysians was still not satisfactory. He said this was especially so among Muslims, as there seemed to be a stigma attached to having a will.
“If a will is not drawn up, then the management and division of assets will have to be handled by the next of kin.
“They will have to go through a long, complicated process as they have to meet various agencies in order to verify the distribution of assets and that they are, indeed, entitled to them.
“Amanah Raya takes just three months to complete the process of drawing up a will if the pertinent documents are provided,” he said.
On the company’s targets for this year, he said Amanah Raya was aiming to draw up a million wills, compared with 980,000 last year.
