Students flock to property showcase to gain insight
TALKS by lecturers and property experts have been popular with those attending the MyRumah Property Showcase at SACC Mall here.
Among propert experts who shared their knowledge and experience throughout the exhibition were Ahyat Ishak, Datuk Nazri Mustafa, Akmal Nazim, Bella Leana, Amin Harith and Amsyari Syakur.
Student Putera Mohd Zubir, 23, said the topics were attractive and this was what drew him to the exhibition.
“As a final-year student of Architecture, Planning and Surveying at Universiti Teknologi Mara, these sessions gave me a lot of input as I may enter the property field when I graduate.
“Besides, I will be buying my own house once I get a stable job, so I need to have some knowledge about purchasing the right property,” he said.
Among the factors to take into account when purchasing a property, he said, are the location and market value.
“Location is important.
“For instance, if I buy a house in Klang Valley... the value is always increasing here due to demand, so this will be a good investment.”
Another student, Abdul Rahim Hussin, 22, echoed the same sentiments, saying location and price were the most important aspects to consider for his first property.
He said the price of the house needed to be appropriate, but proximity to basic facilities was equally important.
“Your first house doesn’t need to be luxurious.
“What is important is that you can comfortably afford it.
“Many people make the mistake of buying something when their finances are not stable.
“That’s why it is important that you are armed with knowledge about property before purchasing a house, especially if it’s your first time.”
