Study pharmacy at MSU
MANAGEMENT & Science University (MSU) presented a book series and an online Continuing Professional Development (CPD) content at the launch of its inaugural Certificate Course in Social and Administrative Pharmacy.
Jointly organised by the School of Pharmacy (SPH) with MSU’s training arm, the Continuing and Extended Education Centre (CEdEC), the Certificate Course in Social and Administrative Pharmacy is also the first of its kind in Asia. The book series ‘What You Should Know About’ is produced in collaboration with Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). The seven-title series presents the subjects including Thalassemia, Osteoporosis, Obesity, Alzheimer’s Diseases, Understanding Generic Medicines, Adverse Drug Reactions and Safe Disposal of Medicines.
MSU’s CPD content ‘Good Pharmacy Practice (GPP) in Dispensing’ is now app-enabled via the university’s collaboration with SwipeRx. A consolidated channel for the largest digital community of pharmacy professionals in Asia, the pharmacy-practice mobile application also hosts accredited CPD educational modules recognised by the Philippine Pharmacists Association (PPhA) and Ikatan Apoteker Indonesia (IAI).
Accompanying MSU president Professor Tan Sri Dr Mohd Shukri Ab Yajid at the launch were the vice-president for the Medical and Health Sciences Cluster, Deans of the School of Pharmacy (SPH), the International Medical School (IMS), and the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS); as well as the senior vice-president for Research, Innovation, Technology and System.
In his officiating address, Shukri lauded collaboration as the way to the university of the future. From medium-sized enterprises right up to corporations, collaborations embrace diversity in perspectives, with the capacity to spur mobility beyond locality.
Intellectual mobility is essential at MSU. It is encouraged among students and faculty as well as staff.
This is being facilitated by the university’s Global Mobility Programme (GMP), Global Internship Programme (GIP), and Global Leadership Programme (GLP).
Together with the university’s industryembedded academic programmes of study, collaborations enable the inter-professional education necessary to effectively meet IR4.0 challenges. With its “Advancement of Social and Administrative Science Trailblazing Towards Optimum Health Outcome” theme, the MSU Certificate Course in Social Administrative Pharmacy 2018 sought to advance its participants’ knowledge as well as education, across humanistic as well as scientific disciplines, in meeting new pharmaceutical challenges of the healthcare system.
