“... Foreign investors continue to see Kuala Lumpur as an attractive location to do business.”

KUALA LUMPUR: Foreign investors continue to see Greater Kuala Lumpur as an attractive location to do business, compared with other cities in the region, said InvestKL Corp.
“When we consider a hosts of factors such as business-friendly policies, good talent pool, public transportation connectivity and a safe and liveable environment, foreign investors continue to see Kuala Lumpur as an attractive location to do business,” said InvestKL chief executive officer Datuk Zainal Amanshah.
“We have world-class public transport such as the Mass Rapid Transit and the Light Rail Transit. The Kuala Lumpur City Hall has also incorporated bicycle lanes to encourage a greener city.”
Zainal said the achievements enjoyed by Kuala Lumpur were due to the government’s efforts to allocate high-impact investments that benefit the people and expatriates living in the city.
“With economic prosperity and infrastructure development, we can expect more development to be implemented. For example, the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore high-speed rail project is set to create tremendous economic spillovers,” said Zainal at the “Kuala Lumpur Police’s aspiration for a safer Kuala Lumpur” session organised by InvestKL.
Kuala Lumpur chief police officer commissioner Datuk Seri Mazlan Lazim hosted a dialogue session, here, yesterday, attended by ambassadors and diplomats living in the Greater Kuala Lumpur, which boasts a cosmopolitan population of 7.25 million people.
InvestKL is a government entity set up under the Economic Transformation Programme to attract large global multinationals, such as Fortune 500 and Forbes 2000 companies, to set up operational headquarters, international procurement centres, regional distribution centres or regional shared services centres in Greater Kuala Lumpur and grow their businesses in Asia.
Mazlan said the police had been placing officers in crime hotspots in efforts to reduce street crime.
The government has installed more closed-circuit television cameras. It has also collaborated with other relevant bodies through the Safe Cities Programme.
