Stop accusing Federal Govt of sabotage, MB told

-

KUALA LUMPUR: The Selangor government has been urged to stop blaming the Barisan Nasional leadership over the state’s water issue, given that RM14 billion in allocations have been channelled to the state since 2010.

Umno Youth exco member Datuk Nazir Hussin Aktar Hussin, who is also its Urban and Housing Affairs Bureau chairman, said the allocations up to last year were provided to the PKR-led Selangor government to enable the state to manage and improve its water industry for the people.

Nazir said it was senseless for Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azmin Ali to accuse the Federal Government of “sabotaging” the allocation.

“Umno Youth urges Azmin to be careful in his statements, especially over the water issue.

“He should stop blaming the leadership of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.

“The water issue is now the laughing stock of the people.

“The community, especially traders, have sustained hundreds of millions of ringgit in losses as a result of the problems.

“It is puzzling and troubling to us — the urban youths — as to where the allocation channelled to Selangor had gone?” he said yesterday.

Nazir said although almost RM14 billion had been channelled to the state government, the water issue had yet to be resolved, and was posing problems to Selangor folk.

He said he was appealing to Selangor folk to give Barisan Nasional an opportunity to assume control of the state.

“This can ensure the water crisis and other matters can be resolved to reduce the problems faced by the people.

“We are certain that the people of Selangor will return to support BN in the 14th General Election to effect positive changes in the state,” he said.
