TNB to host Conference of Electric Power Supply Industry 2018
KUALA LUMPUR: Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB), which is the host of the internationally prestigious Conference of the Electric Power Supply Industry (CEPSI) 2018, is inviting abstracts for technical papers to be presented during the event, to be held on Sept 17 to 22 here.
“We are accepting abstracts from professionals in the areas of the electricity supply industry.
“This includes those involved in project financing, technology development, policy formulation, renewable energy, software, system design and analytics, as well as environmental impact assessment and battery storage,” said TNB chief corporate officer Datuk Roslan Ab Rahman, who is also and AESIEAP 2017/2018 secretary general.
The technical papers should fall under any of the eight identified categories, namely sustainability and green energy, generation and future alternatives, transmission and future grid, distribution and advanced network, smart grid and new technology, ICT (information and communications technology) and innovation, retail and customer service, as well as business transformation.
CEPSI is the most prominent and prestigious electricity supply industry conference in East Asia and the Western Pacific region.
“Details about the categories and guidelines for submitting the abstracts and papers can be accessed from the CEPSI 2018 website, www.cepsi2018kl.org. Please submit your abstract by April 16,” Roslan said.
He also said selected papers would be presented at the conference’s technical sessions.
The sessions are for the sharing of case studies, on-site lessons and experiences, overviews of recent technologies and design strategies, and industry best practices.
Roslan added that the registration for individuals and groups for the conference was open and those who registered by June 25 would enjoy an early bird rate.
More than 1,500 delegates, comprising industry leaders, senior executives, government officials and professional experts from all over the world — are expected to attend the 22nd edition of CEPSI.
The conference-cum-exhibition is under the patronage of the Association of the Electricity Supply Industry of East Asia and Western Pacific (Aesieap).
With the theme, “Reimagining Utility of the Future”, the conference will focus on the current scenario of how the electricity supply industry is transforming in response to the emergence and convergence of technology disruptions, economic shifts, evolving sustainability and regulatory requirements, and increasing customer expectations.
It will also address topics such as megatrends, sustainability, energy trilemma, digitalisation and a smarter future.
TNB is the host for this 22nd CEPSI.
The last time TNB hosted the conference was in 1996.
